AACSB Initial Accreditation Process for Management Schools
1. Preparation for the Long Haul:
The accreditation process can take 2+ years to complete
Start preparing now, especially after receiving the recommendation for initial accreditation from the IAC (Initial Accreditation Committee).
2. Submit Eligibility Application:
Submit the eligibility application via myAccreditation along with a non-refundable application fee.
The eligibility application should not exceed 35 pages (excluding tables)
3. Preliminary Review:
You can submit a draft of the eligibility application for preliminary review before the formal application.
4. Mentor Assignment:
Three months after acceptance, a Mentor is assigned for 2 years to help prepare the Initial Self-Assessment Report (iSER).
5. Prepare iSER:
The institute submits the iSER with background information, gap analysis, and EE (Engagement, Innovation, and Impact) information (~100 pages)
6. Transition to Chair:
After the iSER is accepted, the process transitions to a Chair for further preparation of the final Self-Assessment Report (SER), including the implementation of iSER recommendations.
7. Eligibility Criteria:
The eligibility application will cover key components such as:
Institutional Contact Information and Background Information.
AACSB Eligibility criteria (Faculty composition, Research, Engagement, Innovation, and Impact).
Core values (Ethical Behavior, Collegiate Environment, Commitment to Social Responsibility).
General Criteria related to Accreditation Scope, Oversight, and Continuous Improvement.
8. Peer Review Team Visit:
After submission of the final report, a Peer Review Team will visit the institute.
9. Next Review:
A review will take place 5 years after the initial accreditation.
